Mednarodni turnir I Feel Slovenia Footgolf Open – Ptuj 2025 je ponovno minil v dramatičnih trenutkih, kjer je po treh zaporednih slovenskih zmagah v članski konkurenci (2x Uroš Krajnc in Damijan Kaučič) zmagal László Szabó, ki je igral že šestič na ptujskem turnirju. V dodatnem razigravanju – play offu, so imeli vsi trije igralci skupni seštevek (-22) udarcem izpod para v sobotnem in nedeljskem seštevku). Pred razigravanjem je na 18. luknji Mihael Wajs poskrbel za evforijo in je pred številnimi gledalci in TV kamerami dosegel Hole in one. To je zagotovo bil vrhunec odličnih predstav domačih in tujih tekmovalk in tekmovalcev iz 15-ih držav.
🇬🇧 The International Tournament I Feel Slovenia Footgolf Open – Ptuj 2025 has once again passed with dramatic moments, where after three consecutive Slovenian victories in the men’s competition (2x Uroš Krajnc and Damijan Kaučič), László Szabó won, who played in the Ptuj tournament for the sixth time. In the playoff, all three players had a combined score (-22) under par from Saturday and Sunday’s totals. Before the playoffs, Mihael Wajs created euphoria on the 18th hole, achieving a Hole in One in front of numerous spectators and TV cameras. This was certainly the highlight of the excellent performances by local and foreign competitors from 15 countries.
V letošnjem letu so se madžarski footgolfisti izjemno dobro odrezali na Ptuju, kjer so vsakoletni gostje in zelo dobro poznajo slovensko footgolf okolje. Med seniorji je tokrat slavil Bela Lengyel (svetovni prvak iz leta 2012), pri super seniorjih pa Csaba Balázsi. V ženski konkurenci je bila letos najboljša Naoko Miura iz Japonske, v mladinski konkurenci pa je bil najboljši 17-letni Matic Podgoršek iz Footgolf kluba Pomurje. Odlične igre slovenskih tekmovalcev so bile nagrajene s stopničkami. Zraven omenjenih je v seniorski konkurenci po razigravanju osvojil tretje mesto Leon Šuntner iz Sport klub M, ter Nani Franc Matjašič (Sport klub M) drugo in Miran Perič (Footgolf Ptuj), tretje mesto pri super seniorjih nad 55 let.
🇬🇧 This year, Hungarian footgolf players performed exceptionally well in Ptuj, where they are annual guests and are very familiar with the Slovenian footgolf environment. Bela Lengyel (world champion from 2012) won among the seniors this time, while Csaba Balázsi took the title in the super seniors category. In the women’s competition, the best was Naoko Miura from Japan this year, and in the youth category, 17-year-old Matic Podgoršek from the Footgolf Club Pomurje was the best. The excellent performances of Slovenian competitors were rewarded with podium finishes. In addition to those mentioned, Leon Šuntner from Sport klub M secured third place in the seniors after a playoff, while Nani Franc Matjašič (Sport klub M) took second and Miran Perič (Footgolf Ptuj) third place in the super seniors category over 55 years.

Najboljši štirje posamezniki so z udarci tvorili vsoto, kjer je ponovno zmagala Slovenija in ta prestižni pokal ponovno ostaja doma. Zaslužni zanj so bili Aleksander Koželj, Mihael Wajs, Ian Emeršič in Jure Pignar (člani Footgolf kluba Ptuj in Footgolf Pomurje. Slovenci so imeli rezultat -83, Madžari -79 in Nemci -43. Čestitke!
🇬🇧The best four individuals achieved a score with their hits, where Slovenia won again, and this prestigious trophy remains at home once more. The credit goes to Aleksander Koželj, Mihael Wajs, Ian Emeršič, and Jure Pignar (members of the Footgolf club Ptuj and Footgolf Pomurje). The Slovenians had a score of -83, the Hungarians -79, and the Germans -43. Congratulations!
Laszlo Szabo, zmagovalec turnirja pri članih: „Zelo rad prihajam na ta turnir na Ptuju, letos sem tukaj že šestič in se bom zagotovo še vrnil. Tukaj se vedno dobro počutim, kot bi bil doma, med prijatelji. Všeč mi je tudi igrišče in celotna organizacija turnirja, res vse poteka tako, kot mora. Kar se tiče same igre, sem prvi dan odigral izjemno, res z odliko. Drugi dan sem po polovici igre začutil utrujenost, tudi psihično sem nekoliko padel, ampak sem se na koncu zbral in uspešno zaključil tekmo. Za samo razigravanje sem porabil zadnje atome moči, zato sem še toliko bolj zadovoljen, da mi je uspelo zmagati ob res močnih slovenskih konkurentih.“
🇬🇧 Laszlo Szabo, tournament winner in the adult category: “I really enjoy coming to this tournament in Ptuj, this is my sixth time here and I will definitely come back. I always feel good here, as if I were at home, among friends. I also like the court and the entire organization of the tournament, everything is really going as it should. As for the game itself, I played exceptionally well on the first day, truly outstanding. On the second day, I felt tired halfway through the game, I also mentally dropped a bit, but in the end, I gathered myself and successfully finished the match. I used my last atoms of strength for the playoffs, so I am even more pleased that I managed to win against really strong Slovenian competitors.”
Aleksander Koželj, 2. mesto pri članih: „To je bilo moje prvo večje tekmovanje in že po prvem dnevu sem bil v zelo dobri situaciji, tik pod vrhom. Drugi dan nisem začel najbolje, a sem se v nadaljevanju nekako uspel zbrati in sem zaključil res fenomenalno. S tem sem si priboril razigravanje za končno zmago, kjer pa je bila moja tokratna predstava dovolj za drugi mesto. Ta končnica je bila res dramatična, z navijači in vklopljenimi kamerami je bilo vse skupaj še bolj nenavadno in daleč od tega, kar imamo na domačih tekmovanjih ali treningih. Na srečo je bilo igrišče fenomenalno pripravljeno in je res ponujalo vsem enake možnosti. Videlo se je, da ima Laszlo Szabo več izkušenj iz podobnih situacij in je ohranil popolno koncentracijo, sam pa sem vesel že tega, da sem se mu uspel približati in osvojiti 2. mesto. To je zame tudi dober znak, da sem na pravi poti in da moram samo vztrajati v tej smeri. V tem športu sem sedaj nekaj več kot dve leti, od prvega trenutka dalje, ko smo se pomerili s prijatelji, mi je bil takoj všeč. Res vabim vse, da se poizkusijo v footgolfu in morda se med njimi najde nekdo, ki bo čez nekaj let zmagal ta turnir.“
🇬🇧 Aleksander Koželj, 2nd place among adults: “This was my first major competition and after the first day, I was in a very good position, just below the top. The second day didn’t start well for me, but I managed to gather myself in the following rounds and finished phenomenally. With that, I earned a chance to compete for the overall victory, where my performance was enough for second place this time. The finale was really dramatic, with fans and cameras, it was all the more unusual and far from what we have at home competitions or training. Luckily, the field was phenomenally prepared and truly offered everyone equal opportunities. It was clear that Laszlo Szabo had more experience in similar situations and maintained perfect concentration, while I am already happy that I managed to get close to him and secure 2nd place. This is also a good sign for me that I am on the right track and that I just need to persevere in this direction. I have been in this sport for just over two years now, and from the very first moment we competed with friends, I liked it immediately. I really invite everyone to try their hand at footgolf, and maybe among them, there will be someone who will win this tournament in a few years.”
V pisani ženski konkurenci je zmago slavila Japonka Naoki Miura. S tem je na najboljši možni način sklenila svojo evropsko turnejo, v sklopu katere je obiskala pet držav.
🇬🇧 In the colorful women’s competition, the victory was claimed by the Japanese Naoki Miura. With this, she concluded her European tour in the best possible way, during which she visited five countries.
Naoki Miura, zmagovalka med ženskami: „Zelo sem vesela, da sem na svoji evropski turneji prišla v Slovenijo; srečala sem prijazne ljudi, imate dobro hrano, tudi vreme je bilo izjemno. Najbolj pa sem navdušena nad tem, da je ptujsko igrišče zelo podobno našim domačim, na Japonskem (smeh). Največ težav sem imela z vodnimi ovirami, ki jih je tukaj na ptujskem igrišču kar veliko in so bile zame kar malo strašljive. Na srečo sem se jim uspešno izogibala in zmagala. Na petih evropskih tekmah – ob Sloveniji sem igrala še na Slovaškem, Madžarskem, Norveški in Franciji – sem dosegla dve zmagi in še tri uvrstitve med najboljših pet, tako da se sedaj zadovoljna vračam domov na Japonsko.“
🇬🇧 Naoki Miura, the women’s champion: “I am very happy to have come to Slovenia on my European tour; I met kind people, you have good food, and the weather was exceptional. What excites me the most is that the golf course in Ptuj is very similar to our home courses in Japan (laughs). I had the most trouble with the water hazards, of which there are quite a few here at the Ptuj course, and they were a bit intimidating for me. Fortunately, I managed to avoid them successfully and won. In five European tournaments – besides Slovenia, I also played in Slovakia, Hungary, Norway, and France – I achieved two wins and three top five finishes, so I am now returning home to Japan satisfied.”
Matic Podgoršek, zmagovalec med mladinci: „V soboto mi je igra stekla od prve luknje naprej in je bilo res vrhunsko. V nedeljo je bil moj cilj, da držim priigrano prednost, kar mi je tudi uspelo. Rad imam situacijo, ko drugi dan spremljam tekmece v istem flightu in jih imam pod nadzorom. Takoj vidim, ali se dvigujejo ali padajo, nato pa ustrezno reagiram. Zadovoljen sem z zmago, upam pa, da bom nekoč takšne ali podobne rezultate dosegal tudi med člani – to je moj dolgoročni cilj.“
🇬🇧 Matic Podgoršek, winner among the juniors: “On Saturday, my game flowed from the first hole onwards and it was really top-notch. My goal on Sunday was to maintain the lead I had gained, which I managed to do. I like the situation where on the second day I monitor my competitors in the same flight and keep them under control. I immediately see whether they are rising or falling, and then I react accordingly. I am satisfied with the win, and I hope that someday I will achieve such or similar results among the adults – that is my long-term goal.”
